Cave Tools now has over 80 unique product lines covering every major barbecue tool and accessory category. We continue to innovate new products to solve our customers needs and we lead the market in strength, design, and durability. Our customers regularly reach out to us to give direct feedback and suggestions on how we can improve the products to better suit their needs. Each product line continues to evolve over time as we implement new features that our customers ask for. Our Research and Development team has settled into a quarterly rhythm for conducting deep dive analysis into each product category. We analyze our own products as well as our competitors so we can always have a pulse on the market. This allows us to be the first to market on new innovations and continually rank as the best seller for our current products.



Manufacturing has become a major strategic advantage for Cave Tools and we have developed strong relationships with our manufacturing partners. They understand who we are, what we stand for, and they are in line with our vision. Quality is paramount to our success so we only work with the most respectable manufacturing facilities. We routinely conduct materials testing to ensure we are sourcing the highest quality raw materials available on the market. Every manufacturing batch is held to strict AQL standards for quality control and we are able to spot potential problems ahead of time through mid and post production inspections.


Shipping & Logistics

Our process for quarterly planning and post mortem analysis allows Cave Tools to minimize storage expenses while maintaining a 95% or higher in-stock rate. We distribute our inventory across multiple warehouses throughout the country, so shipping is always fast no matter where our customers live. Every order is always followed up with email communication so there is an immediate support outlet to voice any potential concerns.


Sales Channels

Cave Tools are primarily sold online so we can have greater control over the shopping experience and form direct relationships with each individual customer. Cave Tools can also be purchased from any of the over 300 small box retailer relationships that we have throughout the country. While our primary market is still the United States, we have expanded to include international distribution.

Grill Master University

By partnering with leading barbecue experts, Grill Master University continues to succeed in bringing world class cooking education to the average man and woman. What started out as a single meat smoking masterclass has now expanded into 5 in depth training programs, a monthly digital magazine, and even live cooking classes.

To date we have served over 20,000 students helping them build the core skill sets and the confidence to become true grill masters. Together we are all united under the singular belief that when you are confident at cooking you cook more often and when you cook more often you spend more quality time forming deeper relationships with the people you love.

While many of our students enroll in Grill Master University out of a desire to improve their cooking skills, what they find is that the true transformation they experience is becoming more deeply rooted in their communities and a new found sense of fulfillment.

The journal has become an invaluable free resource for beginner meat smokers to track and improve their smoking skills. So much so that over 100,000 people have downloaded and begun to use the app on a regular basis.

The recipes exchange has grown to a directory of over 700 recipes and the community actively participates in up voting and community actively participates in up and down voting to show which recipes they favor most.

We have continued adding new features based on customer feedback making this the most popular free barbecue app available in the marketplace.

The Grill Master Family

Referred to simply as “The Family” this is our central community for all Cave Tools Customers and Grill Master University Students. With members ranging from Backyard Enthusiasts all the way up to World Class Pitmasters. The Family provides a wealth of knowledge and support for its members. In The Family we have each other’s backs.

We’re there when someone needs help and we celebrate their achievements. Whether it’s a big win or a small win, we all have a vested interest in seeing each other succeed.


Our marketing has become synonymous with providing value. We regularly publish new recipes, how to articles, videos, and the best tips and tricks for avid barbecue fans. If you have a question or want to learn a new cooking technique, then we are your number one resource online to go to. We treat our content the same way we treat our product development, so only the highest quality information gets published. Our blog articles frequently rank at the top of Google, increasing our exposure to over 150,000 monthly website visitors.

Over 250,000 people have signed up for our email list so they can receive regular updates from us. People actually look forward to receiving our emails because they are humorous and primarily focused on educating and building a relationship with our customers. We have also curated a large team of brand ambassadors that blog about and review our products for their audiences.

Customer Experience

Medium Rare Industries is run by a small team of no more than 15 people. We have a head office in Philadelphia, but the majority of our team members work remotely and enjoy the freedom of location independence. We have a fun, light hearted culture and everyone is in line with our vision and core values. Each year, we get together for an annual company retreat to form deeper bonds and go on adventures together.


We sponsor a number of competitive barbecue teams that represent our brands in competitions all over the United States. Thousands of people participate in barbecue competitions each year, but at heart, it’s a very tight knit community and word of mouth spreads quickly. Cave Tools and Grill Master University have thus become known for our premier quality products and education programs among “die hard” barbecue fans throughout the country.


Medium Rare Industries is a collection of family brands dedicated to the art of barbecuing and the family bonds that naturally strengthen during a fine summertime cookout.
