  With the Maximum Chip Capacity Smoker Box, you can fit 3 cups of wood chips into the box at once. The wide-and-slim design also works to maximize smoke output, allowing more chips to smoke at once. The regular smoker box for BBQ Grill Wood Chips fits slightly less wood chips.

  Will the smoker box warp after use?

  Here at Cave Tools, we make our smoker box with 25-percent thicker stainless steel than the competition. That means the smoker box will not warp, even from the high heat of the grill.

  What are the dimensions of the smoker box?

  This smoker box is designed for maximum chip capacity, so it measures 9-inches wide and 5.1-inches long. It is also 1.3-inches deep. This creates plenty of room to hold three cups of wood chips at once.

  How do you fill the smoker box with wood chips?

  The heavy-duty stainless steel lid is attached to the box using a full length hinge. That makes it quick and easy to open. After you open the lid, it is designed to rest against the table, so you won’t need to worry about propping it open. Then, you can quickly and easily load wood chips into the smoker box before closing the lid.

  Do you have to soak wood chips before using the smoker box?

  Most wood chips recommend a minimum soaking time before placing them on the grill, but it’s not necessary with our smoker boxes. The holes for our smoker box are only located on the top of the box, so the chips are less likely to catch on fire and you don’t have to soak them ahead of time. Keep in mind that soaking the chips will give you a longer smoke time, so you may want to consider soaking your chips when smoking items with a longer cooking time (like brisket or pulled pork).
